Julie Danforth (Leader – Fashion, 2019)
Julie grew up in Gig Harbor Washington and attended Seattle Central Community College in 1998-1999, graduating with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Apparel Design. As one of the top in her class, she was on the Dean’s list, a Phi Theta Kappa Honor Student Member and Hallmark Awards officer. She was also a student member in the Seattle Chapter of Fashion Group International and is a current member today. While earning her degree, Julie was an intern at Cutter & Buck as a Design Assistant Color Technician. During the summer quarter, Julie attended American Intercontinental University in London to attend a women’s wear course and an internship with Designer Paul Costello in Knightsbridge, as a Design Assistant. She also worked at London Fashion Week with setup and staging for the event. The quarter following graduation from Seattle Central Community College she returned to London for in internship at Angels Costumiers in Camden London, as a Design Assistant. Julie is an award-winning fashion designer who is passionate about creating elegant, beautiful gowns inspired by classic movies and glamorous editorials. Being a fashion designer is her purpose in life. She love’s every aspect of it, from designing to completing each piece. Her collections have been featured in numerous magazine editorials and fashion shows in Seattle, Bellevue, Portland and Los Angeles.
