Cooked meals for the homeless
An effort that started in our founder Menka Soni’s kitchen is now one of the most popular projects with the help & support of over 250 families including young kids, young children and adults and feeding close to 2500 homeless people every week. All volunteers are called Food Team Angels as they are working tirelessly and so committed to #NoOneStayHungry. From different culinary, festivities and nutritious balanced meals, today we feed so many homeless neighbors across Washington and India. We have partnered with various restaurants to buy food from them and help & support small businesses as well.
Our peanut butter sandwich project has become a favorite way for people to celebrate their special days, like birthdays, corporate teams make it a team-building event and kids and young people do this as part of their school community projects. Together we make up to 1200-1500 sandwiches every week that are distributed to homeless neighbors in support of a search & rescue team with Seattle Union Gospel Mission. On average, 100 sandwiches cost us $80 and there is a big cost involved making so many sandwiches every week. You can support our cause by donating or joining the team to cook or make sandwiches.
